Designer, Educator, and Entrepreneur.
SchultzeWORKS designstudio is an innovative design firm employing hi-tech design and visualization techniques to a wide variety of projects.
The firm was founded in 1997 by Dave Schultze, an award-winning architect who decided to expand his design talents to include consumer electronics, housewares, furniture and lighting.
As an industrial designer, he has developed products for Microsoft, LG, Umbra, and Hasbro. He has won multiple industrial design awards, with work being recognized in media coverage worldwide.
One noteworthy design project is the “Philco PC” concept computer, which was widely covered in the media after placing top 3 in a design and rendering competition.
Recently, Dave founded the innovative start-up Gridopolis Games, the world's first 3D strategy game and system. The brand has already won nine design and educational awards -- even before their formal launch in 2020.
Dedicated to Education
After receiving his Masters of Industrial Design from the prestigious Art Center College of Art and Design in Pasadena, California, Dave landed his first teaching gig at OTIS College of Art and Design in 2001.
Connections at the school led to being recruited by lynda.com, with his first course covering Rhino 4 in 2008. (Lynda was later acquired by LinkedIn and re-branded as LinkedIn Learning.)
Twenty courses later, Dave has covered Rhino for 3D modelling, V-Ray for rendering, Bongo and After Effects for animation.
Dave also produces instructional videos for his OTIS students. These are posted here, on Professor3D, and shared with others.
